This is the
commercial Windows section. Here you can find commercial Boulderdash
games that run in Microsoft Windows (an Operating System).
Microsoft
Windows is a range of commercial operating environments for personal
computers. The range was first introduced by Microsoft in 1985 and
eventually has come to dominate the world personal computer market. All
recent versions of Windows are fully-fledged operating systems.
Below are the Windows
games. Download them and enjoy!

A
modern remake of the classic Boulder Dash with 'Digger', a tomato-like
creature, in the main part. The main goal of the game is not to collect
a certain number of diamonds, but to collect as many points as
possible. The blue diamonds you can get are worth some points, but
killing a monster will also increase your score. All the levels have
passwords, so you can quickly go to a level you know the password of.
As a matter of fact, the movement does not go grid by grid, but you can
e.g. turn left at every position. This can be irritating. The full
version has 70 levels.

Logan
Maxwell (from the game series Lomax Boulders for MS DOS) is back!
Together with his old friend Nigel Manson, he found fifty extra
treasure chambers of a deserted culture in South Africa. Hunt for the
diamonds in dangerous levels with a time limit and passwords. The demo
version has only four levels.

The
sequel to Avian Boulders I - Strong Mission with Logan Maxwell in the
main part again. This time with a much more peaceful atmosphere than
its prequel.

Beetle
Ju is about Ju, in whose world a bunch of ugly monsters invade. But
nobody knows where they came from! The game has smooth scrolling and 3D
effects. Its graphics are cartoon-like and it contains many in-game
objects, such as bonuses, weapons and treasures. You can save the game
at any time and highscores can be uploaded to the Internet. Extra level
packs can be ordered from the homepage. The demo version contains 70
levels in two different level packs.

The
motto of ZX Games is: 'The games that withstood the time'. One of their
games is Boulder Dash. Indeed, it is a rather faithful representation
of the original game, although it is quite plain. The game has basic
functions such as saving and loading the game. The levels are similar
to the classic Boulder Dash. The shareware version included four levels
and the full version has thirty levels. This game has become obsolete
and a newer version called 'Boulder Dash - Episode I: Dig the Past'
(see below) has superseded it.

This
is an updated version of an earlier version called 'Boulder Dash' (see
above). I was hugely impressed when I saw the great difference between
the former version and this one! This game is really worth to be called
an excellent reproduction of the golden classic Boulder Dash! A few
things have changed - you control a hamster instead of Rockford and the
overall gameplay is much smoother! It includes levels from the original
Boulder Dash and Boulder Dash III. Supported by good quality MP3
background music it gives you a sense of the old Boulder Dash
flavour but still it will keep you attracted because everything has
been adjusted to modern game standards! Just play this game and soon it
will become one of your most favourite games among all great
Boulderdash games! The shareware version only contains five levels.

A
combination of the classic oldies: Boulder Dash, Digger and Bomberman.
Dig with the digging machine through the earth in search of diamonds
and beware the shrewd robotic monsters! Fight with them by using your
arsenal, consisting of rockets, mines, bombs and dynamite sticks. You
can upload your game scores to the Internet. The full version features
60 levels in four episodes. In the demo version, you can only play five
levels.

A
great innovative game in the Boulder Dash series by First Star
Software. Play with Rockford or his sister Crystal in three new worlds
with 60 game levels and 22 tutorial levels in total (8 levels in the
demo version). Exciting new game features are reverse gravity,
90° rotation of the screen and many new enemies and other game
elements.

A
Christmas version of Boulder Dash by the same developers as Boulder
Dash - Treasure Pleasure. The full version offers 65 levels (50 playing
levels and 15 tutorial levels). The Java version of this game can only
be played online, on the homepage of FlyOrDie.com (see above).

Venture
yourself in dark caves, ancient tombs and dangerous pyramids in this
highly awarded Boulderdash clone!. As an intrepid tomb-seeker, resolve
the puzzles of pharaohs, Aztecs and kings in your hunt for precious
gemstones. It's possible to save your progress during your quest for
the treasures. The full version features more than a hundred levels in
three different scenarios.

In
this good clone of the Spectrum game 'Down to Earth', you have to clean
30 levels of hostile and dangerous mutants with an underground tank!
The graphics and sounds of the original are highly improved. Your tank
has to be refuelled from time to time. The levels are identical with
the original Down to Earth levels. In the demo version, you can only
play three levels.

The
sequel to Diamond Caves (for the Amiga) that has been discontinued and
released as freeware. Diamond Caves II is based on Emerald Mine and has
some nice features, like variable-sized playfields, game recording and
a two player teamwork mode. A level editor is included, which is
compatible with the Amiga version and Emerald Mine. The shareware
version has 50 levels, but the full version has more than 1000 levels.
It can't be bought anymore, but instead you can buy Diamond Caves 3,
that includes all of the game elements of Diamond Caves II plus some
extra things. The additional levels and tape recordings will appear on
the own page of Diamond Caves II which will appear later (it's on my
list with things left to do for this site).

Diamond
Caves 3 (not 'III'!) is a continuation of Diamond Caves II with some
nice extra game elements (such as background music in the main menu).
Again, a level editor is included so that you can create your own
levels. The additional levels and tape recordings will appear on the
page of Diamond Caves 3, which will appear later (it's on my list with
things left to do for this site).

A
great game in which you have to guide Jim, a strange creature, through
the subterranean caves of his homeplanet Akturien. The game stays close
to the original Boulder Dash and therefore, most people who liked the
old
Commodore 64 game, will probably like this one. There comes a level
editor with
the game with which you can create your own levels and send them to me
to put them on this website.
Go
to Digging Jim's own page!

An
ant called Doulber has to tackle tricky targets, to uncover secret
levels, to unearth diamonds and to crack stimulating, cool puzzles in a
world filled with monster guards, menacing bats, crushing boulders,
blazing lava and a labyrinth of caves. 100 levels (4 in the demo
version) and 30 secret levels in six themed worlds are waiting for you!
Download the
trailer
to take a foretaste.

Funny
Money is a very basic Boulderdash clone with some minor glitches (such
as rolling boulders you can push back) and it has honestly not the best
graphics for a commercial game. Collect coins to advance to the next
level. The shareware version (which you can
download above) contains three levels and the full version has more
than a hundred levels.

GemJam
Gold is a 'magical mix of challenge, charm and serenity'. It's based on
Boulder Dash - Treasure Pleasure and written by the same developers.
The full version contains 60 game levels and 20 tutorial levels in four
themed worlds. The game offers new game elements, like floating
elements, the ability to blow fire, etc.

A
Supaplex clone about Murphy, who has to save some people, who are
trapped in a Virtual Reality world. When they were testing the 'Omega
Virtual Reality', something went wrong. Now it's Murphy's task to get
the auto-destruction password in order to hack the main computer and
destroy the hardware on this computer. Only this way he can release the
people who are captured in the VR program! To figure out this password,
he has to find all information about the internal Operating System,
that is hidden by the main computer all over the network. Go and find
this infomation in 95 levels (9 in the demo version) in a game,
inspired by Supaplex!

An
addictive game with cheerful music about Greensy, a green creature
which
has to grab the diamonds in the 'rooms' while he encounters
many
the dangers of deadly butterflies, hot flames, water balls, magma that
can get bigger and so on... A Map Editor to create your own levels is
included.
The shareware version has only twenty levels and a nag screen which
asks
you to register. In the full version you can play all the hundred
levels and load levels that have been created with the Map Editor!
Go to Greensy in the Wabe's own
page!

A
Boulderdash clone, based loosely on Supaplex. It contains many
different objects, such as oxygen bottles, hamburgers, mirrors,
replicators, etc. You can build your own levels with the integrated
level editor, but in the demo version, the level size is limited to 16
x 8. There are some nice extra levels and utilities for this game, but
they will appear on this website at a later moment (it's on my list
with things left to do for this site). Then
Igor will get an own page.

A
very popular game, inspired by the game 'Stone Age' for the Atari ST.
It does not have a fluent gameplay (the player goes from grid to grid).
The boulders fall immediately downwards, so avoiding is not possible
and boulders don't roll when piled up. Yet the game is addicting and
very popular. It supports additional graphics and sounds and foreign
languages can be downloaded so the game can be played in your own
language! The shareware version has 48 levels and the full version has
over 2000 levels plus an editor to create your own levels. An own page
of Mr. Matt will appear soon on this website with all of its extra
downloads.
Go to Mr. Matt's own page!

A
very good Repton remake by the same developers who released the
original Repton. The full version has 32 main levels and 20 levels for
children. Moreover, the complete version has a level editor to design
new levels. Your game scores can be sent to the online Hall of Fame on
the homepage of Repton 1.

The
sequel to Repton 1, this time with savepoints and extra game
characters, such as transporters, skulls and puzzle pieces. The full
version counts three varied scenarios: Beginner, Message and Caverns.
Again, there is a level editor (in the complete version) and this time
you can also include your own high-resolution colour images as puzzle
pictures in your scenario designs!

Guide
Shailoo,
a plucky worm, through 64 levels (five levels in the demo version) and
reach the secret Blue Book in each level before the walls turn into
monsters. The game is similar to Repton, with monsters in eggs, fungus,
homebods (spirits) and nests (cages), wormholes (teleporters),
screaming faces (skulls), and coloured keys and safes. You can only
outrun the rocks for a long time. A level editor is included.

The
sequel to Rock 'n' Roll. This time it comes with 40 new levels (of
which two levels are playable in the demo version). An interactive
tutorial gives you help to get started and you can even let the
computer demonstrate the two levels that are playable in the demo
version. Like its prequel, Rock 'n' Roll II also has a level
editor.

Go
with a character called Spud through hazardous caves to collect gems.
Your enemies are e.g. monsters who hatch from fallen eggs and deadly
skulls. Some other objects are One Way Paths, keys and cages. All
levels have a time limit and an own password. The full version has 71
levels, a level editor, a save option and additional music, while the
demo version only has ten levels and no extra things such as a level
editor. Extra levels of this game will appear on this site when
Rockfall - The Return has an own page. That will probably happen soon.

A
highly awarded Boulderdash clone with atmospheric, dreamy music and 3D
graphics. Collect the diamonds, artefacts and fruits in five amazing
worlds, each with an own theme. If you complete the game for a hundred
percent, to enter a secret hidden world with ten extra levels. The demo
version has only ten levels.

A
beautifully
animated Emerald Mine derivative. Levels are categorised by difficulty,
and features include background music, recordable demos, choice of
language (English or German), and some unusual objects: elevators,
bags, safes, pushers, laser rubies, cushions and object dispensers. The
demo version can be played for fifteen hours. There is more stuff about
this game available (such as levels), but that will appear on the own
site of Sapphire Yours, which will appear soon on this
website.

Simpaplex
is a game that is loosely based on Supaplex. Guide Mumbly, the green
worm who lives somewhere high in the sky. His rest is rudely disturbed
by e.g. enemies who want to bite him or his favourite food (diamonds)
that can't be accessed anymore. The game is fun for the whole family!

An
unfinished Boulderdash clone that seems to have disappeared. It's like
Supaplex but in realistic 3D. The objects are rendered transparently so
that you can see things in the distance.

A
popular Boulderdash clone with 108 levels. Some elements are:
teleporters, poltergeists, spiders, slime, etc. The game includes a
powerful level editor. Your game progress is automatically saved in
your own profile (name) you have to create before you start playing the
levels. There's some nice extra stuff available for this game, but it
will appear on this website as soon as SubTerra has an own
page.

A
great and very cheerful Boulderdash clone with funny music and sound
effects. The main character is a mole whose objective it is either to
gather gold nuggets or to destroy his enemies, as displayed on the
panel in the right corner. If you want a merry game, this is the right
one!

A
special winter version of Treasure Mole with our hero venturing himself
again in the dangers of the underground mines. Except the snow and
snowballs (and the other levels), this game is the same as Treasure
Mole (the normal version).

A
modern Supaplex remake by Russian developers with many levels (all the
native Supaplex levelsets work in WinPlex!). Because the game has a
completely different atmosphere from the original Supaplex, not
everyone will like it, but the game itself is a nice try to bring the
old classic to the public notice again. There is also a possibility to
use your own sounds instead of the standard sounds. Some nice extra
stuff for this game will appear on this website as soon as WinPlex has
an own page. Download a level editor
here.
WinPlex uses the same level format as the game Supaplex does, so
download extra level collections from the
Classic
Supaplex page.
